First things first Create a Youtube Channel
- You will need a Google account.
- Go to Youtube.com and click Sign In
- On the top left click the avatar photo and select My Channel
- Next you will get to choose your channel name. Side note, you only get to change your channel name 3 times so choose your name wisely.
- Click Create and Wala you now have a Youtube Account.
The Key To Success
The next step to creating your channel will be setting it up for success, what do i mean by this? Well, you will want to attract people to your channel even before they click on your videos. You want to upload a photo, this photo will be your profile picture, it will go next to your channel name, it will appear with the comments you leave on others content. It will be a first impression of you and your channel. It will let people know if they should or should not come check out your channel content.
Then you want to create a banner, this banner represents the feel of your channel and the vibe people will get once they click to come take a peek at who you are and the videos you have. I personally use PicMonkey.com or Canva.com to create my banners these are easy websites that will definetly get the job done.
Assuming that by this point you may have an idea of what type of content you will be uploading make sure you write something in your “About Me” section. Write a little about you and what your channel is all about, add in how many times a week plan on uploading, this will let your subscribers know when they should expect a video and in turn will help your views grow.
Alright so now that you have a Youtube account, Channel name, photo and banner all you need to do now is go shoot your first video ( you should start with recording a channel trailer ).
Whoa! Wait, channel trailer? What is a Channel trailer? Well, it is a video that is anywhere from 30 seconds to no more than 3 minutes long (in my opinion). This short video will go on the very top of your channel and will be the first video new visitors see when they come to check out your content. This is why you should include what you and your channel are all about and make sure to be yourself.
Being genuine is what will attract people to you. People can spot fake a mile away. There is only one YOU so be sure to show your viewers who you really are, this is vital to growing a following and gaining views on Youtube. Now that i have given you the essentials to start it’s time for you to shine. Go out there and don’t be afraid. This is where it all begins.
